04 Maserati Cambiocorsa Coupe, only had 27k mi on it. Dark Blue with Tan interior. Ran good, trans shifted smooth.

Then I started looking at the details. The PO took off all the plastic parts and spray painted then black (poorly I might add). My assumption is becasue of the sticky button problem. Then I opened the glove box and found a purchase order from the PO stating the car was sold to him just 3 months prior (red flag).

Then I found a diagnostic printout from a local shop saying the car was brought in for shuttering stalling when cold and was diagnosed as needing a new ECU and F1 control unit.

Thanks but no thanks.

I’ve always thought these were pretty, but I’d get one in a convertible for sure.

I’m bored, so I’ll ask - what price range are you looking for stuff in? Maybe I can find some gems on my local CL.

I’ve heard the F1 gearbox is a horror-story and a half and to stick with a proper manual for those.

Also, Wheeler Dealers restored/resold a 3200GT, which is the same car, but with a smaller engine and sexier taillights.

I hope you found this paperwork before the pre-purchase inspection you had scheduled for later that day? Please say yes

The F1 needs proper service with exact calibration via Ferrari’s proprietary SD system. If a clutch job was done without the SD, it was not done right.

Maintained correctly, the F1 should not be the reliability nightmare that people think it is. Also, riding the clutch like normal Americans ride a slushbox will give your bank account a very rude four-digit awakening.

I had the pleasure of following a cabriolet Cambiocorsa home yesterday. Still a great looking car.

Never buy one of those with the F1 gearbox. Those were total shit.

The f1 is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be if you know what your getting into a head of time. And how to properly operate it. The problem with a lot of these is that they weren't properly maintained or driven so they have issues

I’m not actively looking I just happened upon this one. If I had a choice I would take an 06 gran sport. They ground effects and wheels just look so much better
